About Me

Dr. Kyungbin Kwon’s research centers on advancing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computational Thinking (CT) education through innovative instructional designs and embodied learning approaches. Dr. Kwon leads projects that design and evaluate AI and CT curricula for K–12 students and teachers, emphasizing equity, inclusion, and real-world problem solving. Supported by NSF, DoD, and state-level initiatives, his work has introduced mixed-reality and tangible tools to foster embodied learning, investigated teacher professional development for AI literacy, and developed curricula that address issues such as gender disparities and rural education. Dr. Kwon’s scholarship contributes to both theory and practice by examining how students build AI and CT competencies, how teachers integrate AI into classrooms, and how learning environments can scaffold inquiry, collaboration, and reflective practices. He has published extensively on AI literacy, CT practices, and embodied learning in leading journals and have delivered invited keynotes internationally on AI education. Collectively, his work informs how AI and CT education can empower students, support teachers, and expand equitable access to future-ready STEM learning opportunities.
